GOOOOOD TIIIIMES.
Anyways, I was thinking about my favourite covers...

Crazy Baldhead -Boy named Sue (Johnny Cash) - Haha, love this.

Street Dogs - There is power in a union (Billy Bragg) - I love the street dogs, one of my favourite bands, of my favourite covers.

Lars and the Bastards - To Have and Have not (Billy Bragg) - Heard this when i was 13, and it got me listening to Billy Bragg...not a bad thing.

Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash- Redemption song (Bob Marley) - 'Nuff ced.

MXPX - 500 miles (Proclaimers) - I thought this was the highlight of that covers album they did, the rest of the songs sort of sounded exactly how I would expect an MXPX cover of a song to sound. This track stood out.

Rancid - Bob (NOFX) - This is better than the original...no doubt.

Snuff - Wannabe (Spice Girls) - This, to me, is what a punk cover should sound like.

Mike Ness - I fought the Law (possibly Bobby fuller four..or maybe he was covering the clash)- Never heard a bad cover done by mike ness.

That is all i can think of right now. Unfortunately the barbeque that is going down a couple of houses away is affecting my ability to think.

Rancid - Let the Dominoes Fall

I wasnt able to hear this album till a week after release due to A levelllllll exams har har...I'd heard from various sources that the album was a bit of a let-down, buuut, i took that with a pinch of salt cos I think that Tim Armstrong is sick, and I also think that Rancid never dissapoint whether its live or on record, so I knew they would deliver. And i was right. Reviews I've read state that theres no progression on this record and it sounds too much like early rancid etc...But thats ridiculous..because I love that rancid stay true to their roots and keep their signature sound...its what keeps me and millions others listening to them..Furthermore, this talk of people being dissapointed due to a ''lack of progression'' really annoys me because its obviously a claim made my someone who is not familiar with rancids back catalogue. I think that the lyrical content on this record is different to what rancid were writing back in the 90's, without a doubt...moreover, musically they've clearly experimented on tracks such as civilian ways, which to me, sounds nothing like anything off of earlier albums. The thing that I love about this record, is how diverse it is, theres a hint of tim armstrong's solo work shining through, theres that early rancid vibe and then theres a fresh load of stuff. This record is consistently good from track 1 through to 19. I dont think that many other bands could do that. I also love the arrogance on Last One to Die, Rancid are allowed to be arrogant. They've achieved so much whilst properly staying true. That is something to be proud of. This is up there with Wolves...I cant wait to hear this live...I love Matt Freeman on LA River...haha...it was worth the wait. I thought that the self titled Rancid, 2000 record, wasnt one of their greats, i still loved it but i dunno, it just wasnt really up there with life wont wait or wolves...and thats fine but this record is up there. What else? I havent heard that acoustic CD yet...cant wait for that...everytime the band play Fall back down acoustic live sends shivers down my central nervous system so I caaaaaaant wait to hear that CD.

I think what this post was trying to say...was that Rancid have really delivered with this record...they're just an amazing band all round anf this record proves it... they really do walk it like they talk it...have a lot of respect for them.

shimmy shimmy shimmy shake shimmy shake.

Dont amino acid yourself.
